Angelas Cross Stitch

My friend Angela

This is one of my very best friends. She is a bit of a cross stitch freak as well. We share techniques and problems - I can't tell you how helpful it is to have another cross stitcher living so close.

She FINALLY agreed to let me put her works up on my site but she's a bit short with the descriptions. Seeing as we speak all the time about the projects we're working on I'll put in the descriptions for her (lucky girl).

Angelas Paper Dolls

Angela's fist cross stitch was Paper Dollies. As you can see she has very different taste to me. She was very wise in starting off in an easier one than I did (see my mamoth effort with the Dragon Isle). Ange loves these cute ones and they really reflect her personality.

Angelas Calico Angels

Here is another Calico Angles one. I guess she found the first one so effective she needed to have another one. They both hang together in her unit (See Themes). By this time I think she was getting pretty experienced and ready to move on to something more difficult.

Angelas Scent of the Orient

Well, I did say difficult didn't I. Scent of the Orient is such a beautiful project and caused Ange some headaches. The border in particular was very difficult as you have to get it to match up when you get to the end. I've not tried any boarders (Ange warned me), but I'll give it a go - eventually (see Boarders). I think this was the one where Ange had some trouble with French Knots. She came over for a demo and also had some harsh words about the messiness of the back of my work. I am now a lot neater (fear of Ange's wrath mainly).

Angelas Celtic Cross

The Celtic Cross is absoulty fab. I love celtic stuff. I think the boarder problem came into play with this one too as celtic stuff is very symetrical, but it looks like she's really got it nailed. I can't wait till she sends me some more work (hint hint)
