Sure, we do make a little money from adverting on this site to help cover our hosting costs, but we are really not all that interested in taking your money. Thats right, any cash given through the Sourceforge donations program will not go into the authors pockets! Confused? Let me explain...
Sourceforge has a wonderful donation system which gives users the opportunity to give cash to their favourite projects. Great idea, but Sayz Me is only a tiny program with one developer who does very little active development. Unlike projects such as Open Office or Mozilla, Sayz Me does not have hords of developers to support and it definately isn't going to change the world. It seemed a little unfair to take money for doing very little in return.
Not to worry, as the Sourceforge people are very smart and already had a solution to this ethical dilemma. It turns out that each project can choose to forward their donations onto other worthy organisations. So we opted in to receive donations for the Sayz Me project and divy up all of the cash we take equally between:
