About tdf Chores

Troy and Adam Hi, my name is Adam and I am the author of tdf Chores. The ankle biter in the picture is Troy, my 8 year old son (see Troy's website). We had to include Troy in the mugshot, because without him there would be no tdf Chores program.

Troy has always had chores to do. His mother, Leasa (see Leasa's website), and I agree that chores are important because we believe that it teaches responsibility, dicipline and the value of money.

When Troy was younger he was only given one or two easy chores that we verbally reminded him of. As he got older we added a few more chores to the list (plus a little extra cash added to the allowance), and to make life easier we printed out a simple chores list and stuck it to the fridge. This worked well enough... until Troy started school.

With school came a slew of new things to remember. "Have you got your homework?", "Did you remember your glasses?", "Don't forget your luchbox.", "Remember your violin." , "Today is show and tell - what are you going to take?", "Have you got your tuckshop money?", "Your library book is due back today." - and the nagging went on and on.

The chores list on the fridge just wasn't cutting it anymore. Troy would forget where he was up to on the list. Some things only needed to be done once or twice a week. There had to be a better solution.

So we searched the internet for a simple chores program to help keep track of all the things Troy needed to remember. We found a few pieces of software, but it was either too simple (ie, could not track tasks occuring on different days) or overly complicated (ie, included reward programs, etc).

Well, there was nothing left to do except write my own chores program - and so tdf Chores was created. Troy now does his chores without complaint most days, Leasa and I have a great tool to monitor his progress, and the nagging has decreased lots.

We hope you enjoy our software.
